oh i love scout .. and oldham ...
so it's all good here ...

one thing tho ... the 7" single

i get to feeling really stupid.... side b promises centaurs r us and do you want to be burried with my people ...

but for the life of me i can't find the centaurs r us track ...

i mean it's been years since i listened to anything other than mp3s and am just now switchin back to vinyl ... but i don't think there's such thing as a hidden track in a 7" ...

anyone have this issue?

What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Phil feeling happy.

Ole Nibbles (Scout Niblett) has a new 7" out featuring the dark prince himself Will Oldham called 'Kiss'. Yep he's on everything this week..... 'rent a misery' adds his on delicious blend of sorrow to this moving ballad of a track. Scout and Will are the new Peter & Jordan you know....This alt country inspired duet is both winsome and miserable at the same time which of course wins massive points with me. Great track.

What the label says:

‘Kiss’ is a love story, laid bare in song, where Scout Niblett’s emotive plaintive vocals duel then soar alongside guest vocalist Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s soulful, dulcet musings. A devastating vocal coupling, complemented further by mournful guitar strums and subtle, perfectly placed string arrangements; all of which is portrayed in the poignantly playful new video which is currently doing the rounds on YouTube.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
