Envy - Abyssal

Abyssal by Envy

4...according to our on Wed 14 Nov, 2007.

Japanese outfit Envy have a cool CD EPout on Mogwai's Rock Action label. 'Abyssal' decent post metal gear. It has the shoegaze elements of Jesu, the doom of Nadja, the post rock of Mono, The Intensity of Isis or Pelican and the epic proportions of Mogwai all wrapped up into a powerful blend of fists in the air and emotive rock music. It's the sort of stuff that if you feel it, you REALLY feel it. Phil is chuckling at the 'piss funny' growling metal vocals.

Envy (Tetsuya Fukagawa - Vocal, Sequencer, Nobukata Kawai - Guitar, Masahiro Tobita - Guitar, Manabu Nakagawa - Bass, Dairoku Seki - Drums) have been melting minds and amps for nearly 15 years and have come to dominate the independent hard-core scene in Japan.
Their music, through their own evolution, encompasses a sound where intensity and beauty coexists. In short, a band that truly has their own sound. Mogwai’s Rock Action label are pleased to announce the follow up release to
’Insomniac Doze’(2006) with the release of the’Abyssal’ EP.
The EP, featuring 4 brand new slabs of intensity will coincide with the bands UK shows in November.
Extremely Limited Vinyl.
