Gusto Extermination Fluid - The Cleaner

The Cleaner by Gusto Extermination Fluid

Gusto Extermination Fluid just rolls off the tongue. Here's an album by 'em called The Cleaner which features a nice drawing of someone with their head removed from their body. Nice... Anyway it's chocca full of old industrial noise along the lines of Test Department and Scorn etc. It's dark and very occasionally light (though mainly dark...). Reminds me of being much younger... am still pleased folks are making this dark powerful sounding industrial music these days. Cool!!

GEF is a reflection of the spiralling madness that is 21st century humanity and a witness to its final descent into hate-fuelled oblivion.

"The Cleaner" is an album that combines old school industrial, electronica, dark ambient and dub and pushes them into new sonic places.

Sounding like a soundtrack to a film centred on urban decay and life in a soulless post everything society, “The Cleaner” takes the listener on a journey through the wasteland of modern life.

From the powerful body hit of tracks like ‘Wound’ and ‘Hurone B’ to the brooding dark ambience of ‘Pileus’ and ‘Bees Tick’ , “The Cleaner” undulates with the menace and dread of the world that lurks beneath the surface.

Musical points of reference would be Future Sound of London’s Dead Cities (if the hippy shtick was buried alive), Scorn, Terminal Cheesecake, Einsturzende Neubauten, Test Dept and electronic records labels like Ant-Zen and Hymen.
