Dalek, Destructo Swarmbots & Oddatee - Deadverse Massive

Genre: Hip-hop/Experimental : The Deadverse Massive 12" picture disc brings together three intense forces in music-- avant hip-hop unit, Dälek (Newark, NJ), ambient guitarist, Destructo Swarmbots (Queens, NY) and hip-hop maestro/madman,  Oddateee (Union City, NJ). Spontaneity, open-mindedness to the recording process and a collective cohesiveness sprung forth an album that none of them would have every created alone and none of them would have imagined before the moment of creation. The result is four tracks that blend delicate, fender rhodes work (reminiscent of Return to Forever-era  Chick Corea), the atonal ambience of  Fripp & Eno, radical,black power-laden, spoken word (ala Gil Scott Heron,) and some damn fine beats and lyricism for a hallucinatory album that is destined to be a simultaneous head-turner and head-scratcher. DÄLEK has released four full-length records (the most recent three on Ipecac Recordings) and countless 7" and 12" EP's on various labels from the US, UK, Europe and Japan. They have collaborated with krautrock legends FAUST, TECHNO ANIMAL(ex-Godflesh), KID 606, ZU, VELMA and many other varied groups. Past tours have seen them share the stage with melvins, prince paul, isis, dillinger escape plan, de la soul, techno animal, tomahawk, pharcyde, fantomas, and dj spooky.  DESTRUCTO SWARMBOTS has released 2 full-length CD's (the most recent on Public Guilt, the first on CreepyDogEyes) and one 3" CDEP. DS  has completed remixes for isis, genghis tron, branta ïx, trephine, and dälek. live, ds has collaborated with mgr, darsombra, magicicada, and  has also shared the stage with guapo, the bug, kylie minoise, time of orchids, genghis tron, usaisamonster, nautical almanac, growing, carlos giffoni, and neptune. Hailed by Blow Up as "one of the most dynamic live hip-hop performers we have seen in years,"  ODDATEEE made his solo debut with Steely Darkglasses(Gern Blandsten).  ODDATEEE was a founding member and ten year veteran of THE LABTEKS, a 30 member crew responsible for one of the most innovative hip hop albums you’ve probably never heard. ODDATEEE has collaborated in the studio and on stage with dr. israel, cherry valence, the sofa surfers, mike ladd, anti-pop consortium, smut peddlers, dj spooky and prince paul.
