Man, I just had to scoff that cheese. So much for deferred gratification. I have no will power... and onto indie new wavers Dega Breaks with their 'Wake Up/Bedroom Divas' 7" on Back Yard. They compare themselves to Blondie, The Cure, Depeche Mode and Whitey. I can hear elements of all those bands and although the synth pop element is used very sparingly it adds a melancholy element to the track. Polished, radio friendly gear but it does sound passionate. It's nice to read they share my fondness of Guinness. I can imagine these being quite popular.A1: Wake Up – LISTEN
B1: Bedroom Divas
Dega Breaks are the latest signing to Back Yard Recordings, possibly the hottest indie label in the UK right now following the phenomenal success of Gossip and rising electro funk stars Chromeo.
· This West London quartet are ready to inject some magic back into the indie music scene with their blend of black and white disco punk, ruthlessly fast methed-up beats, confident hooks and lo-fi synths.
· For the band and lead singer Dom Otero Dega Breaks is about “Rebelling against the established mediocrity of the current sub-libertines consensus and off-the-peg indie.”
· If this is the case then Wake Up and Bedroom Divas is a rousing call to arms aimed at weekend hedonism, lack of aspiration and the cult of celebrity.
· The single will be available on strictly limited edition 7” Vinyl

What can i say "they're everything you could hope for in a band as scuzzy as the gutter, as epic as the stars"!!!! Saw them at their launch nite last tuesday and they rocked. theyve got passion, energy and just that little something different. This tune needs more airplay. its an anthem in the making....according to Bell.
