Vector Lovers: 'Hush Now' (Bitten By Black Dog) (Soma) A three track 12" that covers the gamut of instrumental electro-pop that errs on the side of the melancholic. A solid crunchy beat is the solid frame for a silky, melodic, keyboard line and warm, soft padded strings that flesh out the occasional vocal refrain. The second track is kind of like a downtempo house groove welded to analogue keys, squelchy FX and a rumbling bass line. Rounded off with a techno-pop tune with vocals that evidences the producers relocation to Berlin.

With huge support from Laurent Garnier, Dirt Crew and James Talk, Martin Wheeler delivers a delectable new 12” of tasty cuts.
The electro-lullaby ‘Hush Now’ is one of three tracks on ‘Afterglow’ which feature Martin Wheeler on vocals. New Soma label-mates The Black Dog give the track a stunning new facelift. The Black Dog have been exceptionally busy of late churning out some incredible remixes as well as playing out almost everywhere and working in the studio on their new album due in 2008. Here they deliver a downtempo breaks version of the track layering intricate rhythms over the top of the original’s rich, sweeping synth pads and Martin’s delicate vocals. This will have you floating across the dancefloor.‘Piano Dust’ is without a doubt one of the strongest tracks from the ‘Afterglow’ album. ‘Piano Du(b)st’ takes this beautiful cinematic lamentation and turns it on it’s head, creating a new version orientated more towards the dancefloor. An astounding rework of a remarkable tune.
