In 2006, having toured the world over in support of their Takk... album, Sigur Ros returned home to play a series of free, unannounced concerts in Iceland. Heima is a unique record of that tour filmed in over 13 different locations across the island, taking in the biggest and smallest shows of the band's career.
Directed by the Oscar nominated Dean DeBlois, Heima is premiered in London in October at the BBC Electric Proms alongside an exclusive live acoustic performance from the band.
The special edition version of Heima includes a beautifully presented 116 page (approx) photo book documenting the tour, encased in a special top-opening slipcase.
The standard edition features the same audio-visual content as the special edition, but in a 4 panel digi-pack with an eight page booklet, in a side-opening slipcase.
Aside from the 97 minute feature film, both DVDs have a bonus disc featuring over two hours of full length performances including music from all four of the band's albums, featuring alternate edits to those that appear in the film, plus a brand new song ("Heima") recorded live in the band's own studio and several 'featurettes'. |
