OVERVIEW: Crash My Model Car release their debut long player "Ghosts and Heights". Having released two critically acclaimed EPs on My Dad Recordings, the Glasgow based quartets long anticipated album is irrefutable proof of their emergence as a cut above your average guitar band. Singer/guitarist Iain Morrison grew up on the remote Hebridean Island of Lewis, the son of a world-renowned bagpipe player. As a teenager he risked the fury of his father when he bought his first guitar and his head was turned... "I had to sneak it into the house because the old man considered it a foreign instrument. One day he heard me playing and he went off his head. He didn't speak to me for about a week". Moving from Lewis to Glasgow to study for a theology degree, Morrison attended lectures by day whilst amassing an armoury of great indie pop songs by night. Iain spent years playing with a variety of line-ups, forever trying to find the perfect foil to play the songs that he had been slaving over. Finding three other people with a shared love of classic American country rock - Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, CSNY - as well as an appreciation of traditional Scottish folk music, Crash My Model Car were formed 3 years ago and set about making themselves a live reputation in Glasgow.
