Mr Fogg - Seciov

Seciov by Mr Fogg

3...according to our on Thu 25 Oct, 2007.

Mr Fogg: 'Seciov' (Worst Case Scenario) 7" red vinyl release which is minimally backed indie fare made up a of soft serial synth line, sampled chorused vocal and simple synthetic beat. Garnishing lavish praise and radio play from hard work gigging the festival and club circuit, this one man singer-songwriter electronica act crafts a neat line in melody and wordsmithery.

He’s back and we’re back…and did we mention that he’s back?  Mr Fogg, the one man wall of intelligent electronica returns to Worst Case Scenario Records this summer for some hot record releasing action.

Described by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens as “Ace Ace Ace”, solo indie-synth-pop artist Mr Fogg was featured on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent compilation album and brings the pleasantly entrancing track Seciov back into the loving arms of WCS once more, this time accompanied by the slightly darker Black Heart.

Born Phil Barry, the musical alter-ego Mr Fogg was handpicked from hundreds to play Reading Festival 2006 thanks to the huge local and national support he has built-up since his early days ; support that stems from hard work…this guy gigs his butt off.  From national festivals and top London venues to cool hangouts like Manchester’s Dry Bar or Cardiff’s Toucan Club, Mr Fogg performs everywhere.

And it’s not just the live scene that loves him…It seems that radio too is fast becoming a massive fan of this quirky electronic kid.  With XFM Music Response and BBC 6Music sessions already under his belt, not even mainstream national radio can resist.  BBC Radio 2’s Janice Long quite correctly says “You won’t get this out of your head”.  It’s clearly true, and she too books our Foggy for a show.

Deriving from Jules Verne’s classic ‘Around The World in Eighty Days’ where Phileas Fogg of London and his newly-employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager set by his friends at the Reform Club, could this namesake be a spooky prelude to the success we can expect from our very own Mr Fogg?

And so Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you an electronica genius in the second offering from a new series of Worst Case Scenario signings.  Listen to each song once and you just might be able to get away.  But listeners beware!  Hit play on Foggy twice, and you’re hooked forever.
