Trembling Blue Stars
Exploring The Shadows

This record left our Phil feeling happy.
The Trembling Blue Stars have a new single which is of course a complete janglefest of the highest order.... a few bars in and I'm thinking Amelia Fletcher already. This is proper indie pop music.... none of that manufactured shite which comes out in droves week in and week out. Sincere and heartfelt this is the real thing. It's hugely twee though so I'd probably avoid this if you're looking for a new band to replace your Big Black fetish. But those Sarah/ Field Mice loving folks will be more than happy with this. 4 Tracks on the CD... 2 on the 7" and you (annoyingly) need both formats to get the tracks which is some shameful fleecing that I wouldn't have expected from Elefant/ TBS.

What their label says...
TREMBLING BLUE STARS have always featured many previously unreleased tracks on their non-album releases (only with the extra tracks included
on the two singles taken from their first album on Elefant Records they could have released a full album), and this EP is again a deliberate attempt
by the band to stand up for the single in an age when they can be little more than trailers for the album. So, the "Exploring the shadows" EP features four exclusive songs that were recorded as part of the album sessions. The lead song, the sunny and melodic "Beautiful blank", is sung by Beth Arzy. Tracklist: 01. Beautiful blank 02. As easy as being alone 03. Outside looking elsewhere 04. And then silence
