The Young Knives - Terra Firma

Terra Firma by The Young Knives

3...according to our on Fri 26 Oct, 2007.

The Young Knives are one of the best indie bands out there I reckon. Here's their new single 'Terra Firma' which on 2nd listen isn't really doing it for me. I loved the last album 'n all. It sounds like them but I don't think the song is as good? Maybe it will grow on me?? It's just a regular plod-a-thon down tried and tested paths which is most disappointing.....

TRACKLISTING: 7": A) Terra Firma, B) A Cavern.  7": A) Terra Firma, B) Back To Back. CD 1 Terra Firma, 2 Holiday Everyday.
OVERVIEW: After the recent and hugely exciting Mercury music prize nomination for their 2006 debut album, 'Voices of Animals & Men' and a hectic year of touring, touring and more touring, The Young Knives have crept away and no sooner disappeared, they’ve reappeared having written and embarked on making their killer second album in lightning timing. The Knives have almost finished recording the new album with producer Tony Doogan (S.FA, Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Dirty Pretty Things) in Glasgow. The first single from the new album is 'Terra Firma', featuring further, exclusive new material in the shape of unheard songs 'A Cavern', 'Holiday' and 'Back To Back'. 'Terra Firma', whose inimitable chorus shouts 'Fake rabbit, real snake, terra firma, TERRA FIRMA!' is a suitably surreal yet anthemic, dancefloor-crushing return.
