What we say
What the label says:DAGGERS are five intense young dreamers from Manchester. 'Money' / 'Magazine' is their first ever release as Daggers, although the more astute children of the night out there could be aware that these were the people behind the terrific 'After Midnight' single on High Voltage in 2006 under the name of Bureau. DAGGERS believe in the synth-smeared rhythm of the night, lurking as they do in the shadows of seedy clubs, lusting after dayglo kicks. They can dance if they want to, or they can create brilliantly evocative noirish numbers like 'Money'. Either way the band say they are all about aggressive electronics, heartbreaking synths, bruising guitars and a voice that exists somewhere between Richard Hell and Scott Walker. DAGGERS are a public image of your private life, they state. Stadium electro? Step this way... |
