LIMITED EDITION: 40
RUNNING TIME: 43:25
Furthering our continued facination with Norwegian noise, here we present 3 slabs of sound by Anders Gjerde, Sten Ove Toft and Sindre Bjerga. Acompaying these are an additional 3 pieces displaying similar musical territories by home grown talent from Dorset including Dead Wood, Jason Kerley and No Context. Expect noise, drone, sound textures, melodic melancholy, sinewave and spectral manipulation.
DEAD WOOD:
Dead Wood is the solo sound based project of Adam Baker. The project was started in 2003 and explores the world of microsound, sinewave manipulation, glitch, noise and sound textures. Sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, these experiments are created using field recordings, found objects, laptop, guitar, effects, kids toys etc. Dead Wood has releases on labels such as Tibprod, Tin Cans And Twine, Kabukikore, X Died En route Y etc. Adam is also one half of electronica duo I Before E and runs the Dirty Demos label which specialises in limited edition CDRS and 7" vinyl.

ANDERS GJERDE:
Norwegian sound artist, self taught musician and visual artist. Anders Gjerde has been active in these fields since around 1997. Constantly searching for the "psychedelic" - not in the sense of overcooked and eye-popping effects, but in basic materials and the layering/confusion thereof. The mutability of simple musical phrases. Noise, friction and excitement.
Anders also runs the Humbug label.

JASON KERLEY:
Jason Kerley is the creative genius better known as Blackpepper, a monikor for his unique blend of crazy breaks and enchanting melodies. Despite making music for a few years now, Jason has only recently decided to release and perform under his own name, providing and outlet for his more abstract, detatched and often emotional work.

SINDRE BJERGA:
Sindre Bjerga is one of the most active noise/drone artists from Norway, with a release output-level which seems almost impossible with projects like Bjerga/Iversen, DJ Bra Nesegir, Rogaland Hot Club etc. He is also the man behind the Gold Soundz label, with a catalogue similar to his own sounds including Ashtray Navigations, Origami Genetalia, Thurston Moore, Oren Ambarchi, Gastric Female Reflex etc. Sindre has also toured Europe and the UK with fellow Norwegian experimental
artist Jan M. Iversen

NO CONTEXT:
No Context is an Improvising laptop ensemble, featuring Allan Upton (Textured Bird Transmission/Dead Sea Liner), Adrian Newton (Nemeton/Zaum/Noctilucent) and Adam Baker (Dead Wood/Dirty Demos). The ensemble specialise in microsound, live sampling, drone, home-made electronic devices and spectral manipulation, producing chthonic soundscapes for the head. Most recently seen performing at the 2007 Sound Festival, in a large pink tent, somewhere in rural Dorset.
STEN OVE TOFT:
Sten Ove Toft is one of the most prolific Norwegian noise artists of today. With projects like Ryfylke, Waffelpung and his solo works he's played almost 200 shows, done three European and one US tour and collaborated with amongst others Lasse Marhaug (Jazzkammer), Phroq (Groundfault), Pure (Mego), Hild Sofie Tafjord (Fe-Mail/Asphodel), Junko (Hijokaidan). Toft has a wide musical range, bouncing fromDeathprod's drones to Merzbow's extreme madness with an inferno of loops and live-treatments of found objects and the occasional vocal - all supported by heavy, dark drones that will really do wonders with the
extra kilos you've regretfully grown so attatched to. The track featured on this compilation is a sneak preview taken from the forthcoming album "Lit De Parade" on Toft's own Roggbif & on Vendus in the US.
