When bands with names like Psychedelic Horseshit come along I always find my curiosity gets the better of me. While it's on I thought I'd write a few words about it just so you know if it is indeed horseshat or not. Magic Flowers Droned is a CD and LP on the newly regenerated Siltbreeze label. It's a right ole lo fi shambling mess with it's heart in indie music and it's arse in a dustbin. It sounds like it's been recorded in a bin.... the production values remind me of Doo Rag if anyone remembers them. There's a bit of 60's garage pop in there underneath the shambling fuzz. It's not bad at all actually. Well worth a punt!THIS IS MORE LIKE IT! SPAZZED OUT SPUZZ THATS EVOKES EARLY PAVEMENT, SWELL MAPS, EARLY FALL,AND SOME OF THAT GOOD OLE 70S MIDWEST CATTERWAUL (THINK ELECTRIC EELS, ROCKET FRO MTHE TOMBS) MEETS SOME OF THE WILD UNKEMPT SOUNDS ON IN THE RED (HUNCHES, LAMPS, CLONE DEFECTS), THIS IS DER SHEISSE ROCK DELUXE, DEFINATELY CONTENDER FOR ALBUM FO THE YEAR HERE...WELL ONE OF THEM. CONSIDERED THE LITTLE BROTHER (THINK STOOGES-STYLE) BAND TO THE BIG BROTHER (THINK MC5-STYLE) OF TIMES NEW VIKING: HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, THIS SIMPLY RULES!
