Dead Machines - Plays Kwaidan

Plays Kwaidan by Dead Machines

4...according to our on Thu 22 Nov, 2007.

My missus thinks the music I listen to is a right load of noisy nob twiddling nonsense. I'm jealous that Wolf Eyes' John Olson has a wife that enjoys the same sounds as him. No wonder he married her. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at their house... "Yeah I'll peel the potatoes after I've finished recording the sound track to your worst nightmare darling!". I think Dead Machines have done some great stuff. One of my faves being their collaboration with John Weise whose LP on Not Not Fun gave my skull a good rinsing at home last night. 'Plays Kwaidan' is a splendid 7" from said lovebirds of sonic terror. This is textbook Dead Machines with their un-nerving paranoid vision. Proper darkside atmospherics with occasional metal clanking and scraping. Spooky shit on iDEAL Recordings with John Olson's trademark collage blood splatterd artwork.

Limited to 600 copies  w/inlay. Dead Machines hit us with a deep piece of black vinyl, man. John Olson (Wolf Eyes, Spykes, Graveyards etc) and Tovah Olson (Wooden Wand & The Vanishing Voice) has created an intense trip that will take you somewhere else. It's built on some kind of harsh drone thing that is disturbed by beautiful tape manipluations and unknown source noise stuff. It does sound like unknown film music or maybe it doesn't. One thing we are very sure if is that this is a truly amazing 7" record and it makes you want to spin it over and over and over and... This is the first part of a series the band will do for iDEAL on tasty limited edition vinyls. Make sure you are with us from the beginning.
