Milanese: 'Barry Dub 2007' (Planet Mu) Immediately kicks straight into an oscillating bass drop followed by a sample from I Robot. The percussive spurts and metallic clanks are more familiar toa form of slowed down Tech Step (a hard industrial Jungle genre) much like No U Turn label and the productions of Technical Itch played at 33 and a 3rd. This style of dubstep is so hard and industrial it'll probably favour the likes of yer more militant ravers still partying on class A rather than weed at the break of dawn. The flip breaks it down a little to a sparse vocal, bass stabs and light key pads. Sounds like a Lamb vocal sample to me. The contrasting styles on each side makes this release accessible to all tastes methinks. The ever evolving Milanese brings his next offering to the Planet Mu table. Barry Dub 2007 is an updated version of the ’Adapt EP’ favourite.
Heavy distorted bass and vocals, with crunchy, chopped beats and a few breakcore elements thrown in for good measure.
The double A-side, ’Double Face’, a huge tune from his recent ’Adapt EP’ cd on Planet Mu.
Released after heavy demand for both these huge tunes on vinyl.
