This record left our Phil feeling happy.

OK with bands like Fuck Buttons my curiosity is well and truly perked. Some guy called up to get one form us cos he was too embarrassed to get one from his local shop. Clearly not embarrassed enough to buy one from us though. People must thing we're fiilth peddlers or something. Anyway you want to know about Fuckbuttonery right? 'Bright Tomorrow' is a cool 7" picture disc and Mogwai folks/ Bob Weston have had a hand in it's droney makings. It's a wierd psyched out drone fuzz thing with a thudding drum beat... everything seems calm and I'm getting to the groove. Then some spastic vocals (can I say spastic?? well I've said it now... if I can say fuck buttons I can spastic... this is so not gonna get past your parental filters...) come in and freak me out. Keyboards, guitar fuzz and a thudding repetitive bass drums largely inhabit this odd piece of vinyl. A very interesting record indeed..

What their label says...

Limited Edition picture disc from ace new signings to ATP. Mastered by Bob Weston of Shellac and recorded by John Cummings of Mogwai, no less.
Fuck Buttons was conceived by Andrew Hung & Benjamin John Power in the winter of 2004, Bristol UK.
lInitially the group was born as an outlet for their nihilistic-noise tendencies but quickly, the two Fuck Buttons realised they could harness the use of noise as a tool to immerse and evoke. No longer afraid of melody or rhythm, the group started fusing all these elements to the point when drone becomes melody becomes rhythm.
With their electric live performances sealing the notion that the two Fuck Buttons are attempting some kind of transcendence between the listener and the Universe itself, one could easily envisage one’s psyches being shaken by the very rumbles of the earth’s motions.
Tribal beats and subtle beautiful melodies weave amongst contorting Technicolor drone-scapes while preaching distorted-vocals scream for dear hope herself.
