What we say
This record left our Ant feeling happy.
The first release on Arcadian Collective Recordings is from Lizzy. 'Faultline' is a swingin, chirpy acoustic indie pop track. We're reminded of the House Martins. She's so happy she's holding some balloons on the cover and all. Apparently she's from tooting which I always imagine has a population of Heroin addicts.
What the label says:
A BIT ABOUT LIZZY... SWAPPING THE PASTORAL PLEASURES of her native Tooting for the mean streets of Norwich, Lizzy discovered her muse. Then "whilst tweaking the nose of modern popular music" she discovered her distinctive sound. Which was nice. Remember, it’s Lizzy with a ’y’ not an ’ie’. She doesn’t do surnames, a bit like Cher. Also like Cher, Lizzy’s renown for writing her own songs, an unorthodox guitar style, her forthright manner, and being 19. Yep, she’s a pretty cool customer all right; starting a degree at Goldsmiths, moving into her first flat, and releasing her first record all in the same month resulted in her simply commenting, "Mmm...it’s all quite exciting". Lizzy’s current live set-up features Cath on percussion and Owen on bass. So far this year, as well as hometown gigs supporting the The Memory Band and Ellis Island Sound, Lizzy’s played nights in London such as ’The Local’ and the ’Electro Acoustic Club’, plus a classy performance at The Camden Crawl. THE LABEL AND THE SONGS... First release for Norwich’s Arcadian Collective Recordings is Lizzy’s ‘Faultline’ and ‘Just Leave’. The release is on limited 7" vinyl and download only and showcases two sides of her extraordinary talent by matching the upbeat and slightly cheeky ’Faultline’ with the more mature and reflective ’Just Leave’.
