OVERVIEW: Funeral For A Friend will release a new, very special, mini-album on Oct 15th 2007 on Atlantic Records. It will feature 'The Great Wide Open', (the third track to be lifted from the smash hit album 'Tales Don't Tell Themselves'), plus EIGHT live tracks taken from a recent celebratory London show. At this exclusive, fan only event the Welsh quintet played their first two EP's in chronological order and in their entirety. It was a rare and exciting treat for the lucky few in attendance, and now everyone can get a taste of just what a magical night it was. 'The Great Wide Open' (the title track of the new record) was produced by Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, The Pixies, Maximo Park etc) and highlights just what a dynamic reinvention the band have undergone. Indeed, the release of this mini-album will signal further excitement in what has already been a riotous 2007 for the Welsh quintet. Their third album has achieved an unparalleled level of both critical and commercial success, and the band have a re-invigorated sense of purpose, striding confidently into new waters. Currently wowing audiences on the other side of the globe with a world tour that takes in the likes of Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, the band will end 2007 with some festive shows throughout December, climaxing with a mammoth homecoming gig at the Cardiff CIA. It promises to be a spectacular end to a truly spectacular year.
