The Pyramids are two chuffers from Archie Bronson Outfit and they have a debut single out on Domino. A terribly lovely special thing it is as it's a triangular shaped 7" in a 12" picture sleeve. Well spunk. This is extremely rocking and it's not a million miles away from Archie Bronson.....maybe it's the guys voice? It's like a punkier Archie Bronson... filthy and scuzzy slightly bluesy sounding dirt. That's what this is and I have to say I quite a bit of that. I prefer it to said Bronson's as well so 'Hunch Your Body' is worth checking out!Formed of S Windett on vocals/guitar and Arp on drums, The Pyramids are the louder, heavier, seedier little brother of Archie Bronson Outfit. The two members of The Archie Bronson Outfit who, during the long sessions for their remarkable second album, ‘Derdang Derdang’, felt a craving to crank out some instantaneous, lightning-in-a-bottle rock’n’roll. Recorded in a rickety barn deep in the countryside on an old 16 track tape (the same one which recorded PJ Harvey’s ‘Dry’), ‘Hunch Your Body, Love Somebody’ is a raw and edgy song about f**king and getting over someone, and a taster of what’s to come from the band’s self titled debut LP, due for release later this year. The songs for their spirited, sulphorous debut were written in a single weekend, observing The Pyramids’ hunger for the moment. The takes captured on the album were often the duo’s second or third run through the song in question. The single will be available on a limited edition highly unusual ‘pyramid’ shaped vinyl (7inch playing area, 12inch sleeve), an extremely desirable item for vinyl collectors.
