Those Dancing Days: 'Those Dancing Days' (Witchita) The sort of playful, cheery, naive pop certain Scandanavians have made their own. This one's more on the lo-fi, up and at 'em, with the sort of enthusiasm that must surely banish the cynics and world weary to the back of the hall. This reminds me of a less polished Cyndi Lauper jamming with the dregs of the Minipops. An organ and drums driven clattering barrage of simplicity. The self-titled debut single from Wichita Recordings most recent signing, Formed in Nacka a suburb of Stockholm in 2005, Those Dancing Days mixture of girl group charm, Northern Soul and Hammond driven pop surfaced in the winter of 2007 and is about to lead them to be one of the most talked about new bands in eons. Think The Mysterians fronted by a very young Dusty Springfield.
