Time for some serious metaaaaaaaaal action courtesy of Torche. 'In Return' is monster riffs galore with cool slow heavy as hell moments and cavernous drum sounds. I think fans of Neurosis, High On Fire would dig this as it's metal of the more adventurous nature. It does also wander into bits of Isis/ Pelican type post metal too. Rock On... on Rock ActionAlthough only receiving a UK release this year (to major critical acclaim from UK rock press - see below) via Rock Action, it has in fact been three years since Miami’s TORCHE (ex Floor/Cavity) recorded their eponymous debut.
Now, they return with a blistering mini album release fittingly titled, errr, "In Return". It’s monstrous - seven-tracks, 20-minutes pushing TORCHE’s musical extremes even further - "heavy" songs infinitely more crushing, "poppy" songs
are far more catchy.
The band continues to explore every side of their multi- faceted personas, presenting their darkest, heaviest and most infectious work to date.
