What the label says:

Dead Penny Records (in association with Squirrel Records) release the debut album from The Insect Guide in October 2007.The double CD / DVD features 9 songs and 9 accompanying videos. The Insect Guide are a Leeds based 2 piece who have been writing , recording and performing their music and films since 2004.Mixed by Choque Hosien (Hood, Outside Closer) the album combines a unique blend of shoegaze , electronica , drone , noise , melody and dream pop.Listen and lose yourself in the album's blissed out soundscapes , or watch the DVD and experience each of the tracks with an extra sinister edge. The fascinating live show combines the most up to date computer technology with a Velvet Underground inspired rhythm section and a sonic guitar assault designed to make your ears bleed!! Best of all , this comes gift wrapped in some of the best promo films and on-stage projections you'll see.The band are leading their own shoegaze / art-noise scene in their adopted home city , and this exciting new sound is sure to attract fans from all sides. Welcome to the dark audio visual journey of The Insect Guide.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
