Absinthe (Provisoire) - Alejandra

Alejandra by Absinthe (Provisoire)

A whole stack of CD's on French label Distile landed this week. Here's a few words about them ( not in French though cos I did German at school)... Absinthe (Provisoire) make a bit of a racket on their 'Alejandra' CD. Some heavy rhythm section action with screeching and wailing guitars. Bursting with energy ,kind of on the math rock tip and wouldn't be out of place on Touch & Go....

Absinthe (Provisoire) is a post-rock band from Montpellier, France, formed in 2000. After an acclaimed first album released in 2002 by Hydrophonics Records, and concerts as support band for Godspeed You ! Black Emperor, Cheval de Frise and Party of One, Absinthe (Provisoire) is now back with Alejandra, an unpredictable album where noise and free rock meet delicate melodies.

Alejandra drops you into a world of paranoia and noise, where beauty and danger coexist uneasily.[...]In many ways, this album follows a similar course to that of Silence Kit's excellent Pieonear. Silence Kit expands a little more during its explorations, but both take you on a similar tour. (in Delusions of Adequacy)
