‘Photobooth‘ Cross the Line EP’S, young NME favourites
Friendly Fires present another funk fuelled favourite for
hungry fans.
Their previous debut release ‘Photobooth E.P’ received
shining coverage in the press – Vice 10/10, Fact Magazines
“Best 12”s of 2006” and ‘Ones To Watch’ accolades from
NME and MTV.
Though occasionally lumped in with the New Rave scene
due to their age and the fact they make dance music whilst
wielding guitars, they owe more to Talking Heads and M83
than they do Suburban Base B Sides.
Strong Radio, Video and Press Campaign around their last
E.P has raised their profile to breaking band status.
Nottingham based duo Nightmoves have quickly
established themselves as key playa's over the last year,
delivering, fat, electronic house remixes of Klaxons, Punks
Jump Up, Freeform Five, Shit Disco and, er, Robbie Williams
whilst recording for Kitsune, and there's no let up here as
they deliver a slamming, percussive, funk propelled monster
DFA -signed North Londoners Mock and Toof have very
much ploughed their own 4 /4 furrow over the last couple of
years, and here they add a ravey element to their Moroderesque
rhythms, combining a two note disco – Mentasm
bassline with clever use of original 'Photobooth' vocal
snippets to create a groovy and hypnotic slow burner.
