The Winston Giles Orchestra’s quirky leftfield electronic pop
comes from that same sunshine breeding ground that
brought us The Presets, Cut Copy, The Bumblebeez and
The Avalanches
This is the bands first introduction to a UK audience – and
has found a natural champion in Radio 1’s guru of all things
lite and leftfield, Rob Da Bank.
A ltd 2 track sampler 7” this release perfectly highlights the
Orchestra’s Lemon Jelly meets Flaming Lips brand of
psychedelic pop
‘We Wait For Sunrise’ is a sumptuous slice of heart-warming
electronica, while ‘Little Song’ wears its psychedilc
influences distinctly on its sleeve.
This single precedes the bands debut album, the aptly titles,
Soundtracks For Sunrise.
Formed in 2004 the band are feted in their native Australia,
regulars at many of Australia’s leading festivals, including
The Playground weekender in Sydney, Earthdance and Kiss
