Fresh from honing their sound on a headline tour of the UK and winning many new fans with the release of their acclaimed single ‘Come The Summer Days’, ‘Boys Need Jazz’ is the perfect step up from their previous material. The band draw on their wealth of musical experiences and myriad influences to deliver an album packed full of effortlessly catchy chord progressions, breezy vocal harmonies and, most importantly, some wondrous songs!Recorded and produced at Truck Studios in Oxfordshire during the autumn / winter of 2006 by Alex White (Electric Soft Parade / Brakes), the ten songs featured combine the sounds of a harder-edged Teenage Fanclub with the explosive anthems of Guided By Voices, with the overall outcome being comparable to the halcyon days of early 90s shoegaze – albeit played much harder and with their own distinct sound.From the lush, sunshine guitar-pop of ‘Come The Summer Days’ via the anthemic ‘Do You Have The Heart’, right through to the album finale ‘Loggerhorns’ – capturing echoes of The Wedding Present and The Strokes - Actress Hands have expertly crafted an album full of the sounds of summer and power-pop jangle.
