Ian Brown: 'Illegal Attacks' (Fiction) features Sinead O'Connor on the lead track on the CD & 7", while the flip of the 7" (no.1) includes 'Keep What Ya Got' (feat. Noel Gallagher), In which Mr Brown bangs the war criminals to rights. It was about time someone of his caliber and status stood up and said what many of us already think.Illegal Attacks is the first single to be taken from The World Is Yours – Ian Brown’s 5th studio album - and sees the legendary Mancunian at the top of his game. Not one to pull any punches, Brown addresses the current troubled situation in the middle east with the help of Sinead O’Connor (herself not one to dodge controversy) on backing vocals. This single has already proved itself as a massive talking point, with the Guardian website alive with debate after a news story about the track featured on one of its blogs. The powerful video premiered online at click here effectively doubling the website’s traffic as soon as it was posted. Elsewhere, radio stations have not know how to handle the incendiary lyrics of the song and have felt the need to contextualise each play. There can be no doubt, Illegal Attacks is the most explosive anti-war song written in an age of sanitised sugar coated pop. And its been delivered by a true musical legend.
