Granby Row - Good Boy Falling/ Regret

Good Boy Falling/ Regret by Granby Row

4...according to our on Mon 03 Sep, 2007.

Granby Row with 'Good Boy Falling' on Surbia records. A very nice signed debut sleeve from the Manchester 3 piece who produce simple honest indie pop which they intend us to dance too. I personally wouldn't but its all well rehearsed and structured and not without a certain charm.

Granby Row are a Manchester based three piece whose aim in life is to make people dance. They played a headline slot at In the City Unsigned in 2006 and are a regular fixture of the Manchester music scene having played amongst others Club NME, Love Music Hate Racism, Blowout, and Friends of Mine. Granby Row describe their music as "honest, energetic and melodic". Each member brings a whole different dimension to their music allowing it to venture from indie, punk, dance to dub with trippy narcissism. A 'holiday' has seen a rejuvenated Granby Row make a long awaited return to the gig circuit. Following a triumphant sell-out gig at the Hide and Seek festival at Dry Bar, Granby Row and their legion of fans are eagerly anticipating the release of their debut single, the pounding 'Good Boy Falling' (Surbia Records).

"Granby Row cultivate some neat little hooks around some smart drumming, flitting comfortably between 90's baggy and post-punk" Daniel Pratley - gigwise.com

"You can dance to it! Bloc Party meets At The Drive In." Casbah Club, Bradford.

"Granby Row... Now hang on a minute... A bit of Franz bounce and post-punk spike here, a bit of Maximo meets Pulp power pop melodrama there, even a scratch of Mondays dirt funk. They're never dull, with singer Fash's breathlessly energetic and versatile vocals and drummer Dan showing a prodigous talent, and they've certainly got quite a crowd down." - Manchestermusic.co.uk
