Erlend Ropstad - Bright Late Nights

Bright Late Nights by Erlend Ropstad

And that's only a few years after he first decided to play and record his own material. The mini-album THE MAGNETIC TAPES came out in February 2006, and during a short period of time Erlend has had a raidohit with "Winona and I" on Norwegian radio, he has played many concerts, recorded a full length album, had music on the great horror movie "Fritt Vilt" played support on Thomas Dybdahls fall 2006, and basically just started what seems to be a great and very promising career in music. THE MAGNETIC TAPES was recorded in Grand Sport Studio. The home of the great Norwegian rock band BIG BANG, with Big Bangss front Øystein Greni as a producer, drummer, telecaster operator. This album received great reviews, in Norway and other European countries, on its release. Other interesting gigs and venues Erlend has played the last couple of years, there's the Quart festival in Kristiansand 2006, ByLarm in Stavanger 2005, he played at the P3 session tour with Magnet and Big Bang in  and he played Support for Teitur  and Essex Green
“Bright Late Nights” was produced by Davide Bertolini and recorded in Grieghallen studio in Bergen, Norway. Erlend is here using the same studio and producer as the great Riot On An Empty Street album by Kings Of Convenience. Davide is also the bass player in KOC, and on most songs on Erlends new album. On a more personal level: Erlend has a background as a photographer, journalist, teacher and lives in the small mountain village Oppdal, just south of Trondheim, Norway. His music is said to be inspired by the classic singer/songwriters of the Americana genre. -But it is also very melodic and sometimes just cheerful.
Erlend Ropstad music has also been used as a promotion for the European dating site Parship.
