Black Lips
Katrina/ Italian Sexual Frustration

This record left our Clint feeling unmoved.
The Black Lips have a single out on Vice called 'Katrina' (after the hurricane not her that fronts the Waves)and they certainly have a filthy guitar sound. Its kind of like some of that mid 80's brand of guitar music tht emerged out of USA like later period Dream Syndicate or maybe Green on Red or something. A bit of Blues Explosion in here. Its ok but derivative.

OVERVIEW:
"Katrina" is the third single from Atlanta 4-piece Black Lips on Vice
Records. 'Katrina' follows the limited edition double-a-side "Not A
Problem/Dirty Hands" (March) and previous single "Cold Hands" (June).
"Katrina" is taken from the band’s forthcoming debut UK album "Good Bad
Not Evil" (out Sept 10th). The song is the band’s reaction to Hurricane
Katrina and was written as the band watched events unfold live on TV
while wondering if their relatives had survived (Ian from the band is
from New Orleans). The band arrive in the UK for their much anticipated
dates on August 28th in support of the single and album.
