OVERVIEW: The Used will release 'Pretty Handsome Awkward' on September 3rd on Reprise as the second single to be taken from their current album 'Lies For The Liars' which debuted at #5 in the US and is being heralded as their finest work to date. Recorded in Foxy Studios, Los Angeles with producer John Feldmann (Good Charlotte, Story of the Year, Atreyu), 'Pretty Handsome Awkward' finds The Used putting a fresh melodically anthemic spin on their rollicking post-hardcore approach. 'Lies For The Liars' finds The Used pushing the boundaries and expectations of their sound. The opening track 'The Ripper' has the driving power that typified their previous album but also adds a unique touch of creativity to its post-hardcore approach. 'The Bird And The Worm' incorporates elements of post-punk with some vibrant strings for one of the band's finest moments to date, whilst 'Smother Me' is an intimate piano ballad. Having played in the UK last April on the Give It A Name festival (second on the bill to HIM), The Used will return to these shores in to play Reading and Leeds Festivals as well as a secret small show for fans at Islington Academy on 28th August. They then return in November to headline this year's Taste of Chaos tour.
