Cats And Cats And Cats, Various - Split

Split by Cats And Cats And Cats, Various

4...according to our on Wed 22 Aug, 2007.

Run For Your Life have put out a four band split seven inch that includes Bottlenose Dolphins, Falenizza Horsepower and Guns Or Knives on the A side and Cats and Cats and Cats on the B side. First track comes across like the mighty Big Flame (mid eighties post-punkers from M/CR), t'others revel in similar shouty delivery with heavy drums and bass G or K's just shout with some discordant noise. The flip slows the pace down somewhat with chiming melodic guitars intertwined with some neat stop-start dynamics and handclaps and angular jerks. I like this mainly for my nostalgia quota of the week. Both sides well recommended.

Cats x 3  “Fight Fight with Fight” fills one side of this 4 band split “recalling everyone from Cursive to Explosions in the Sky, but better”. The other side features  Guns or Knives shouting “Progress, Progress, Progress” across an aircraft hangar through a fog of distortion;  Falenizza Horsepower spluttering, kicking and spitting about “Killian” like a lo-fi Fugazi and begins with thud-thud riff-riff two piece Bottlenose Dolphins’ “The Mpange”. The last 100 copies of this split are being re-issued to coincide with Cats forthcoming tour and split album with This Town Needs Guns.
