The Noisettes with 'The Count Of Monte Christo' on Vertigo. Saw them play this live at the Reading festival particularly stoned on my couch and was very very blown away. She is an impeccable performer and her harmony and vocal interaction with the guitar player was amazing. In the cold light of day it seems slightly less impressive but heavens it's still good. I think It's quite a step away from their usual rock sound which comes out on track 2; 'A Little Destruction'. This ain't really my bag but she's a real talented lady indeed and the actual single is cool. Get Cape, Wear Cape fly has done a Portishead rip off remix and the First man has done a funky bass led version to complete the single.Noisettes release a new single The Count Of Monte Christo on the 3rd September 2007, through Vertigo. The single is taken from the bands highly acclaimed debut album, What’s The Time Mr.Wolf?, released in February this year, that was described by MOJO as “an album fuelled by eye popping energy and visceral power, but counterbalanced with idiosyncratic mischief and tales of the unexpected."
The Count of Monte Christo is available on ltd edition coloured 7” – featuring a cover of the classic Elvis song, Suspicious Minds recorded live at the Napster sessions - and a maxi CD which contains a remix of The Count of Monte Christo by Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.
