Rimming the feline species is something I have problems comprehending. So why anyone would choose to call their band Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is beyond me. I'd be surprised if they didn't have undercover RSPCA investigators at their gigs. There is a track on this white vinyl 7" called 'Turn Hegel On His Head'. Presumably Hegel is a cat and turning him on his head will make it easier to launch a smacker on his bum. I hope he scratches their eyes out.. This is dark folk with a traveller / gypsy vibe running throughout. I'm reminded of Current 93...Genre: Psyche/Folk. The young wizard of dark, apocalyptic folk (Belgium’s Stef Irritant) unfurls his first vinyl release, a 7” using Hegel’s dialectic’s as the conceptual foundation. The A-side builds with a slow, brooding repetition of chants and swirling acoustics before exploding into a battle cry filled with personal emotion and lyrical venom aimed at those in power who suppress the desire for human progress. The B-side is a delicate, somber requiem to our lost potential. Easily, some of the strongest material yet from Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat. Complimented by the artwork of Kristof Meers from his series, The Inversion Of Hierarchy and pressed on white vinyl. Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat has released two full-length CD’s, “Interlude to the Outermost” and “If the Sky Falls, We Shall Catch Larks”, on the Belgium’s K-RAA-K 3 imprint and has shared the stage with Ignatz, Greg Malcolm, Six Organs Of Admittance, Magic Markers, Smegma, Cul De Sac, Silvester Anfang, Larkin Grimm, Jospehine Foster and Mi and Lau as well as being featured at the Domino Festival (2007) and the Kraak Festival (2005) KTAOABC will be touring Europe this Fall with Daniel Higgs (Lungfish, The Pupils). Tracks A: Turning Hegel on his Head (5:13) B: Turned Hegel on his Head (5:15). Beautiful packaging and white vinyl.
