What the label says:

Neil O Connor has studied with Roger Doyle, Jurgen Simpson and is currently studying for PhD in Composition with Donnacha Dennehy at Trinity College Dublin. Beginning his career as a filmmaker, Neil has been involved in a diverse range of musical activities including folk, jazz, rock, electronic and electro-acoustic music. His work was been shown/performed at the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival, Anthology Film Archives NYC, Fringe Festival, Resonances Festival @ IRCAM Paris, 60 X 60 NYC, and Klangstadtstille, Berlin. He is currently producing music for film, collaborating an audio/visual Arts Council project and is actively involved with the YCC (Young Composers Committee) of Ireland. Recently, Neil was selected for the Bang On a Can Music Festival at the MASS Museum of Modern Art (Boston) in July 2007. “Suggestions of Ambient Aphex Twin or the Atmospheric soundscapes of Mum. Nevertheless, the results are often beautiful”  Irish Times. “This sees him tentatively emerging as an Irish arranger of note” Foggy Notions.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
