Skallander: "Future Life Remixes" 7" (Type) In which the reworkings are undertaken by Signer and Muriel Tsains. The Signer side is stripped down with handclapping and electronic static padding. The flipside utilises some backwards masking and tinkly, shiny, chiming naivety and pianos (the new guitar folks!)- Contains exclusive remixes from Signer (Carpark) and Muriel Tsains!

The small but perfectly formed supergroup of guitarist/vocalist Matthew Mitchell and producer Bevan Smith (aka Signer) always
wanted to do things a little differently. When they heard that Type were doing a 7" series they knew they had to be involved,
and in response to the upcoming self-titled album each member of the duo decided to remix the track 'Future Life' under their
own solo guise. It's been some time since we've seen or heard from Smith's Signer project, but many of us still remember the
albums 'Low Light Dreams' and 'The New Face of Smiling' with great fondness so it's great to finally see him back. This
extended mix sees Bevan take the track back to an almost skeletal form then build new melodies and new vocals in slowly to
create a bizarre, crumbled up psychedelic monster of a track. Flip over and we are introduced to Matthew Mitchell's Muriel
Tsains project (an album will follow in early 2008!) which through a woozy gauze of glockenspiel and reversed guitars re-wires
the track into five minutes of dream-pop bliss. Gorgeous stuff and the perfect introduction to Skallander!
