Nub - Nub

Nub by Nub

Critically acclaimed math-tinted indie-rock, Anglo-American 4 piece nub release the retrospective album that’s been a long time coming. With tracks recorded by Julian Standen (Lemonheads, Billy Mahonie etc.) and Robin Proper Sheppard (God Machine, Sophia etc.) this collection finally puts an album to the band that managed to maintain great press coverage and a dedicated following for it’s entire existence while only releasing singles. Nub existed as a living, breathing rock band from 1991 to 1998. They released singles such as Fall Guy (Rough Trade), Blacktop (Flowershop Records), Blue Climber (Jackass) and recorded a Peel Session in 1996.
“Nub are heading forward faster than anyone else out there. Get in their way and cling on for life.” Neil Kulkarni – Melody Maker. “This is the song that’ll have you closing your eyes and losing your balance.” Single of the week - Victoria Segal – Melody Maker. “Together they play jerky, stop-start, silver-fretted, quiet/loudcore music – Pythagorean in its complexity, yet Wordsworthian in its lyricism.” John Robinson – NME. “Nub are the sort of band that you start inventing whole other lives for.”
