Bobby Cook has a 7" out on Dance To The Radio. Twinkly sounding commercial indie rock which is all very competent and polished and ends up sounding a little sterile. It's a decent enough tune and the guy is clearly talented. I'm not sure if it's all that (I don't know what that means but I reckon it makes me sound like I know what I'm on about). It's called 'Deja Vu' and if I could be arsed I'd make some sort of joke about it, but I can't so I'm not going to. (I'm sure I've already heard it anyway - Ant X)Bobby Cook returns with his second release. “…like the Waterboys produced by Kevin ‘My Bloody Valentine’ Shields” – The Guardian.Bobby Cook returns with his second release ‘Déjà Vu’, released on Dance To The Radio on limited edition 33rpm 7” vinyl and digital download. ·Following on from the critically-acclaimed ‘Gone So Far’, ‘Déjà Vu’ sees Bobby confirming his talent with this new single, at once capturing a swirl of psychedelia and something else, something harder to pin down. Something that Bobby calls ‘whoooosh’. It’s fair to say that Bobby is a man that isn’t afraid to use his imagination, to conjure something different, something otherworldly when he writes.Bobby Cook has created a space for himself already, no mean feat given the number of singer-songwriters hanging out on every street corner. ‘Déjà Vu’ confirms his potential, first glimpsed on his debut single ‘Gone So Far’ which sold out immediately.
