Here's a limited white label thing by a band called The Wire called The Pussycat Song/ The Dream which I really can't be arsed to write anything at all about whatsoever. It's not bad at all.... it's rousing kind of stuff which I almost half like (at a push) but I keep getting interrupted and I can't think. I appreciate these 2-3 lines have been a complete waste of both your time and mine. There's a handful of white labels of this single which will be
officially released in September. New act. New label. New sound. From a
basement in Brixton comes a fresh look on sexy Indie dancefloor
crossover with The Wire. Formed by guitarist Adj and frontman Tobias
Ratcliffe earlier this year, they have produced this raucous piece of
thumping guitar driven mesh with programmed beats mixed in with live
drums – provided by ex Death In Vegas member Simon Hanson. All
enveloped by Tobias’s incredibly soulful vocals and hooky choruses.
After only a handful of shows including The Great Escape Festival in
May and a myspace following they have quickly found fans from all over
the South East. Tobias is a sight to herald on stage with his
outlandish clothes and James Brown moves accompanied by a Mick Jagger
strut all mixed together with a pinch of salt and a tongue in cheek.
Sometimes shambolic, anarchic and chaotic yet always energetic, The
Wire will never fail to mesmerise when your eyes and ears are upon
them. Both originating from the Brighton area, they now live and work
in Brixton London where they have a small studio set up and spend their
days on writing, recording and producing this new project. They have
also helped set up the new Brixton based label ‘Don’t Point Its Rude’
in order to unleash their fruition on the suspecting world. Early
promos have been sent to key radio personnel who have all given the
thumbs up to lead track ‘The Pussycat Song’, a fast paced assault on
the dancefloor that puts the sex back into distorted guitar. The flip
side shows their more soulful element with the eloquent ‘The Dream’. A
Talking Heads meets Scissor Sisters fusion that again will make you jig.
The
future heralds a follow up single in the new year with an album to
follow. Live dates around relase of this single tbc very soon. For more
