What we say
This record left our Phil feeling happy.
We have another great Motoro Faam CD on the Preco label from Japan called 'And Water Cycles'. This is pretty lush sounding stuff. Gorgeous electronics and neo classical nubbins mixed together in a sexy love pot all ready to pour into your unsuspecting ears. There's a healthy dash of Ryuichi Sakamoto in there and maybe some more. It's quite experimental and there's an awful lot going on. The sound is very dense and full, but together it makes a really beautiful listen, what with all the lovely classical-ness being chucked into the electronic mix. Mingus thinks it sounds a bit like Takagi Masakatsu....highly recommended anyway!
What the label says:
01. and Snowmelts 02. and Surface Runoff 03. and Precipitation 04. and Condensation 05. and Infiltrations 06. and Evaporation 07. and Subsurface Flows
Release Date : June 2007.
Motoro Faam's second album, which follows their debut album that was released from Belgium's U-Cover Transparente. Motoro Faam is a trio based in Tokyo.
Their music is Post Classical/Eletronica/Experimental Music, a blend of beautiful classical sounds of violin and piano together with sampling, noise, and tricky edit work.
Motoro Faam has created a colorful soundscape with "... And Water Cycles". The album is full of joy, emotion, and nostalgia. Cinematic scenes are strewn like collage art.
They are new Japanese artists who create music full of imagination and style, and are successors to artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Masakatsu Takagi, Cornelius, and World's End Girlfriend. |
