OVERVIEW:
With their reputation escalating on both sides of the Atlantic,
Silversun Pickups have confirmed the release of their debut UK single.
'Well Thought Out Twinkles', the first track to be taken from their
debut album ‘Carnavas’, will be released on July 16th. Produced by Dave
Cooley, engineered by Tom Biller (Sean Lennon, Elliot Smith) and mixed
by Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, Fratellis), 'Well Thought Out
Twinkles' combines the band's pure melodic power with an immediately
captivating hook. 'Carnavas' received a Stateside release in July 2006
and has since hit the Top 5 of the Heatseekers, Independent Albums and
Modern Rock charts. The album rages with a mix of emotions, a vibrating
compound of feral cries amid tender harmony, resonating powerfully with
heavily filtered guitar and rhythms that often seem to lurch their way
into divinely propulsive beats. Silversun Pickups signed to Dangerbird
Recordings and released their debut seven-track EP 'Pikul' in July
2005. With critical acclaim soon mounting, Silversun Pickups embarked
on a gruelling touring schedule that saw them hit the road with Snow
Patrol, Wolfmother, Brendan Benson and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
