What the label says:

Full-blooded, jazz-damaged artpop from Denmark. Based in Copenhagen, Slaraffenland expertly expand on the guitar-bass-drums standard with brass and woodwind instruments, various racket-makers, and transfixing gang vocals. Private Cinema is one of those records that just screams album. There are one-million-and-one ideas pouring out of every nook and cranny, little drops of sunshine pelting you in the face until a summer thunderstorm sneaks up from behind you. Rock (post and otherwise), jazz (avant and otherwise), electronics (both out there and accessible), and vocals (sung, shouted, chanted, & hummed) all find themselves intermingling. The monumental deluxe CD packaging is designed by Friends With You, the world-famous duo from Miami comprised of Arturo Sandoval III and Sam Borkson. In the past few years, Friends With You have turned museums, stores, and malls upside down with playful, mind-bending playground-like installations. Private Cinema is packaged in a custom storybook-style case printed in three exquisite colors. The pockets conceal a CD and a two-sided miniposter insert.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
