Zombie Zombie - Driving This Road Until Death Sets You Free (Joakim mix)

Driving This Road Until Death Sets You Free (Joakim mix) by Zombie Zombie

Comprised of drummer Cosmic Neman (also a member of Herman Dune) and Etienne Jaumet on keyboards and analogue effects, Versatile’s incredible new signing Zombie-Zombie combine Kraut-Rock influences with 70s horror movie soundtracks for a devastating live sound that immediately calls to mind the very best elements of Can, Silver Apples, Suicide and Goblin. However, despite the motorik rhythms and psychedelic spirit, this is not just some latest version of Kraut. Zombie-Zombie unleash the full potential of dance music played by a live band. The original version of ‘Driving This Road Until Death Sets You Free’ builds and progresses like a hypnotic techno track, while the amazing Joakim remix on the flip sounds like ESG produced by  Claudio Simonetti. Already heavily promo-ed, UK reviews include DMC Update (“fast, weird and twisted… almost brutal industrial soundscapes… invigorating.”) and IDJ (“tense instrumentalism and a stark, strobe lit groove which gets ever more menacing… spins like a whirlitzer ride after a dose of brown acid... DFA-meets-Loose Joints.”). Widespread DJ support comes from Carl Craig (“amazing”), Ewan Pearson, Josh Wink, Luke Solomon (Music For Freaks), James Holden (Border Community), and many many more.
