Dead Disco - You're Out

You're Out by Dead Disco

Ltd Edition 7” Shaped Picture disc
TRACKLISTING: A) You’re Out, B) You’re Out (Frank Music Remix),
OVERVIEW: 'You're Out' is, very much like Dead Disco themselves, as stylish and sassy as a classic Modesty Blaise strip. It's dirty, sleazy electronic pop at its very best – and catchy as hell. Like DFA messing around with Gwen Stefani in a grotty NY studio. Only 'You're Out', the Leeds trio's first single for 679 Recordings, was actually recorded at producer de jour Greg Kurstin's sunny studio in LA. This is pop music for the 21st Century – edgy, utterly infectious and oozing with attitude of the best possible kind. Bright, likeable & hellbent on getting their audience dancing, all 3 members are in their early 20’s. Dead Disco first arrived on the scene in 2006 with the James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco) produced limited issue debut 'The Treatment' in early 2006, which instantly filled indie dance floors up and down the country.  Radio sessions for both Radio 1's Steve Lamacq & Xfm's John Kennedy followed, as did sold out gigs & an appearance at the Leeds festival. The release of the quite brilliant 'Automatic', the last ever single on Fierce Panda, firmly established them as one of the UK most exciting new bands, and not long after they signed with esteemed label 679 Recordings. Dead Disco represent "that bit in between" – in between the rock bands who sound like pop groups, and the pop groups who sound like rock bands. 'You're Out' embodies that notion, occupying as it does an effortless & convincing middle ground without compromise. The larger than life pop-hooks, the spiky guitars, the sassy lyrics and the ridiculous immediacy, 'You're Out' is a crossover smash in waiting.
