What we say

Rating: ecstatic This record left our Phil feeling ecstatic.

We're enormous fans of Adrian Crowley here. I've seen him live a few times and just about the most intimate thing I've seen live. You feel like you're sharing the guys innermost feelings and secrets. It's incredible how one man's voice can be packed with some much feeling and emotion. You almost feel like you shouldn't be there. Anyway here's a new 7" on Fence by Lord Crowley called Bless Our Tiny Hearts. It features old Yorkston on there as well. Why this guy isn't Prime Minster is a mystery to me. You need this record like you need air to breathe. Well maybe not that much but it's great. If you're a fan of Yorkston you'll like this and then want to buy Adrian's back catalogue as well. This is simply just beautiful singer songwriter stuff which will melt you into a big sweaty mush. Best have a fridge near you when listening so you can pop yourself into it when you feel yourself turning into gak. Great stuff!

What the label says:

We are very very proud to announce the release of the first Fence
Secret 7 - a new series of vinyl, available for free at Fence Club
shows.  There are a limited number available from this website and
select independent record stores.

The first Secret 7 is by the frankly incredible Adrian Crowley, and
features two sea-faring songs - Bless Our Tiny Hearts and Star Of The
Harbour - that swell and heave with the tide.  Adrian's lilting
guitar and vocal break into a sea of violin, harp, clarinet, low
whistle and piano - ably helmed by his friends, Sinéad Nic Gearailt,
Marja Tuhkanen and fellow Fence Collectee, James Yorkston.

This Secret 7 title was available for free at Fence Club #2
(14/06/2007).  If you didn't manage to make it along, don't worry!
There are a limited number of copies left in stock, on baby-pink
vinyl (with a CD-R of both tracks, incase you don't have a record
player!).  This is sure to become a Fence Collector's item - so grab
yours today!

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
