What we say about Wasting 500 Sounds, by Mormo

Rating: happy This record left our Mingus feeling happy.

Mormo: "Wasting 500 Sounds" is somewhat akin to a homage to Autechre around the "Dratft 7.30" period, maybe they're using the same type of software as the edits, flow and feel is very much like the electronica produced a couple of years ago. That said there's still a good level of attention to the details on offer.

What the label says about Wasting 500 Sounds, by Mormo:

After his debut EP 'A Mouth Full of Small Barks' released by Papergoose Records, Mormo (Tomasz Kaye) presents his first full-length work 'Wasting 500 Sounds'. The music combines splintered percussion and idiosyncratic melodies, resulting in a delicately crafted album with amazing attention to detail. From broken glitchy rhythms to quiet ambient interludes, the music creates a sense of space and progression by focusing on the way sounds interact and evolve. Between being lost 'in the edit' and directing the music's broader movement, exotic forms emerge and take over.
Tomasz Kaye has participated in a great number of musical events in Holland and England, performing live in festivals among artists like Venetian Snares, Otto Von Schirach and Bong-Ra, as well as presenting workshops and demonstrations on music software.
