ABC on TV by Annemarie

5...according to our on Thu 21 Jun, 2007.

On the same label we have Annemarie with abc on tv from............ Indonesia.. never heard a pop act from there, so my heart is with them from the start. It's sounding very cheeky English (or Scottish) jingle jangle pop. Male and female singer dance around with the sweet jangle of a Belle and Sebastian guitar and twee indie lovelyness. Inside is a group picnic shot of the band and you know if you were there they'd make you feel so welcome.. arrrrrrrrr lovely.

Debut album from Indonesia twee stalwarts. Breezy melodies, sweet vocals, love and fun. Includes videos for Apple (suicide in your stereo set) and Wonderboy!

Annemarie was born in the late of 2004, Eko met with Iqbal his junior high school mates. They talked a lot to made an indiepop bands, so they asked Banyu, Dian, Tantri and Tating to get into the bands. The recruitments its so easy because Banyu and Dian are Iqbal’s friend and Tating is Eko’s friend. They met Tantri on the 1st year in university. Annemarie came with many influences Eko loves Velvet Underground and beyond, Iqbal with his Tweepop and The Smiths collection, Banyu very Blur-ish influence, Dian with his madchester stlye, Tating loves Cocteau Twins and Joy Division, Tantri with her etherial pop solo project. But they’re deep in love with indiepop music. They first debut is The Living Model Ep released by Swedish great indiepop label Music is Mygirlfriend.

The come and go: After recorded The Living Model Ep Dian have to leave because his study, same as Banyu. As some reason Eko and Tating leave too. During the recording session for Abc On Tv Debut album, Inu and Jojon joint and they became full member of Annemarie,, Dian helps a lot too in Abc On Tv recording session.
