I can't remember the last time we reviewed a Travis record and in the interest of fairness and non snobbery here I go. Selfish jean starts off sounding like a slightly lame version of Lust For Life (it has the same beat going through out it...) and it's got a bit of a 60's pop feel. As far as Travis songs go it's one of their more upbeat ones. Maggie has said brilliant but I don't think she means it... My mother in law is called Jean and she's far from selfish.... she's lovely. It should be called lovely Jean.7" (1) features a cover of Squeeze's "Is That Love?" & 7" (2) covers Squeeze's ""Pulling Mussels From A Shell". Both 2 trk vinyl formats are ltd. Cd has extra trk + vid.
