Debut single from Galsgow's Make Model on The Biz. Sounds like a bunch of lads trying to be crazy but with a keen eye on the mainstream. Sing along chorus with some good crescendo action going on. Sounds like Simple Kid with its rhythmic changes and its catchy melody (Ant thinks Killers). B-sides got a Union of Knifes remix of a song called Czech Neck. If you believe the press then these boys are gonna be the next big thing.. but who knows not I.Make Model is what happens when six young Glaswegians have spent too many boozy late nights on each other’s sofas listening to records and joining the dots between pop and post-rock via no wave and the odd sliver of German electronica at 3 in the morning. As such the collective’s self-released debut single ‘LSB’/’Czech Neck’ sounds like the schizoid little brother of Big Audio Dynamite raised on a diet of limited edition LCD Soundsystem, Stereolab and Kompakt records but somehow ending up as the most ludicrously catchy artschool indie to come out of Glasgow since Franz Ferdinand. Currently wowing fans at gigs in their native city and comfortably swelling Easyjet’s profits with the number of London A&R men heading hungrily north of the border, this is one new Model you should definitely check.
